La Carrière Haute has an exceptional setting in the Dordogne countryside, two houses facing the valley of the Aurival, surrounded by big oaks and acacias, a few kilometers from the Dordogne River. Nearby are the beautiful towns of Sarlat, Domme and Beynac.
The swimming pool and the houses are surrounded by the grounds, approximately 2 ½ acres, for your exclusive use, with a large lawn, bushes, flowerbeds, and in the surroundings farming fields and woods. The two houses, House North and House South are built in the Perigordine golden limestone and are typical of peasant architecture of the 18th and 19th century. Each house is fully autonomous and each sleeps 6 persons or 12 persons together. The property is excellent for a large family or other groups wanting privacy.
The property has everything your family need, BBQ for cooking, modern kitchens and bathrooms, Broadband, HiFi, garden furniture and firewood available. In the restoration process, the owners have been careful to respect traditional architecture and style.
House North: On the ground floor you enter the house into the kitchen-dinning room with a large chimney, and full equipment (dishwasher, fridge/freezer, electric oven and hob; the washing machine is in the cellar ), to the left a big sitting room with a traditional fireplace and beams, and to the right the master bedroom with en suite bathroom. On the first floor there are two bedrooms and a bathroom. The furnishings include a dinner table for up to 14, 2 sofas, armchairs, a HiFi installation and a writing table. The doors from the kitchen and from the sitting room lead to the terrace which has two tables for 10 people each under a treillysed vineyard.
House South: On the ground floor you enter the house into the sitting room with a Godin stove and beams. To the right the fully equipped kitchen-dinning room (dishwasher, American fridge, electric oven and hob). Beyond, a passage leads to a shower with WC, and to a bedroom. On the first floor there are two bedrooms and a bathroom. The furnishings include a dinner table for up to 12, 1 sofa, armchairs, a television, a printer and a writing table. The doors from the kitchen and from the sitting room lead to the terrace which has one table for 10 people.
Pool: The pool is 11 by 5,5 meters, with a small diving board. It is equipped with sunbeds for everyone. There are quiet corners to retreat to, with tables, hammocks, or a swing.
