Renovated Maison de Maitre near the centre of a picturesque village in the Cathar region of Languedoc, midway between Carcassonne, Beziers and Narbonne, with patio, private swimming pool and large secluded garden with children's swing and slide. The village has its own shop/cafe. Bank, post office, chemist can be found in nearby village of Ginestas 5 minutes away. Nearest supermarkets are 10 minutes drive. Beautiful views from top of house over vineyards towards the Montagne Noire. Undulating countryside ideal for walks and cycling. There are many local restaurants in the vicinity, and a small "epicerie" (general store) in the village. The house is a high-ceilinged characterful property built in the 1870s. Its thick stone walls ensures that it stays relatively cool in the heat. There are electric fans in every room but no air-conditioning. This is a much-loved family home rather than a purpose-built holiday villa; hence some of the furniture and fittings are well-used.
