Nestled in the heart of Cartmel, which is famed for being one of the prettiest villages in the Lake District, this beautiful, detached house overlooks glorious grounds and the priory, just over two-miles from Grange-over-Sands. The White House is one of the oldest properties in the village, boasting many of its original features and elegant furnishings taking you back in time, including a beautiful stained glass window on the staircase. It is well-suited to families and large groups looking to make the most of Cumbria's fabulous walking country and England's longest lake, Lake Windermere. Spend your down time in the spacious sitting room and take in your surroundings where you'll find lots of interesting objects catching your eye as you relax in front of the open fire on a cool winter's night. The living room wraps around to the snug area, where you can choose to take yourself away from the group for a quiet read, and French windows open out onto the sunny patio. Cook up a storm for the whole family in the well-equipped kitchen. There is a breakfast table in the kitchen for enjoying your first coffee of the day whilst you read the newspaper, with a more formal dining room resting next door. Find the snug/library room a handy addition for the kids to entertain themselves for a few hours, while you catch up with the adults and discuss plans for the day ahead. Upstairs, you have four well-presented bedrooms, with the master bedroom offering a super king-size bed, its own en-suite bathroom and beautiful views over the garden to wake up to. Outside, the well-maintained garden offers an extensive lawn for the children to run around with their four-legged friends, while you enjoy the delights of the fruit orchard or games on the lawn. You can even indulge with a refreshing glass of wine on the patio followed by alfresco dining on a long summer's evening. Visit one of the local pubs for a pint of real ale, explore the gift shops and don't forget to try a taste of the famous sticky toffee pudding at the Cartmel Village shop. Find yourself enjoying the seaside resort of Grange-over-Sands and take advantage of all the fun-packed attractions close by, such as the Lakeland Motor Museum and Holker Hall and Gardens. Further afield, you have the stunning lake at Windermere with boat cruises and plenty of amenities within the town itself, as well as plenty of walking and cycling opportunities.
