Dating back to 1490 when it was built to protect the Tay estuary, it now houses a museum which explains the history of this pretty area.
The famous golf courses at Carnoustie and St Andrews are close by and there are other excellent courses locally for avid golfers to test their links game. The award-winning sandy beach nearby provides a haven for wildlife and a lovely place to spend some time. Families love the children’s playpark at Castle Green and there are lots of local cycle paths too.
Broughty Ferry train station is within walking distance, which makes it perfect for exploring further afield by rail.
