Positive: The farmhouse was located on a farm, and the courtyard outside had a nice patio with seating space, a garden where kids could play, and the vegetable patch and polytunnel were in view. Overall, this was a really lovely setting. The bedrooms were overlooking the garden, so this was nice. The first night we also booked and paid additionally a dinner in the kitchen downstairs. There were 11 guest, plus the host. The atmosphere was really nice, and I enjoyed the food, although this wasn't exactly child-friendly.

Negative: While the house had a charm of an old farmhouse, the bedrooms weren't that clean. Beds were ok, but there was a lot of dusty fliers and tourist guides and old fake flowers in old pots that made the overall atomosphere of the bedroom a bit odd. Worst of all: one of the two bedrooms was strongly smelling of moulds: it felt unhealthy to sleep there, and we were quite relieved when we left. The smell probably came from the bathroom: this had broken bathroom furniture, a makeshift shelve cabinet hiding some holes in the wall, and a dark, carpeted toilet room completely painted in dark blue paint. I think this needs some serious renovation, at least to get rid of the smell. The rest of the house also had some issues. One of the steps to access the bedroom in the loft had been completely eaten by woodworms, and snapped off. It is probably an hazard that should be looked after. the kitchen-diner where we had dinner was lovely, but goodness, those grubby table mats made of plastic looked like if they hadn't been washed for 15 years. I don't understand why keeping something so dirty and poor looking when you could just have a nice tablecloth you could wash. Overall, a place with potential to be a nice farm stay, but a really disappointing experience, especially given the price we paid.

Summary: Grubby farm place. Not cheap either. Could be improved.
