Summary: This is a very basic two-bedroom unit on two floors. Two bedrooms upstairs, bathroom and all other rooms downstairs. Very narrow and steep spiral staircase leads to the bedrooms. Furnishings are adequate, not fancy. The owners stated that they rent this place infrequently - which is evident from the cobwebs under some furniture and in the corners and the slight musty smell. Main floor has a kitchen and two sitting rooms, one of which has a TV. Beds were reasonably comfortable. A fan or other means of circulating air in the bedrooms would have been useful as the weather in September was very warm. The town is small and quaint, with only one small restaurant/bar that served coffee in the mornings but no food. It seemed to be busy in the evenings. Nearest shopping was about a kilometer away in Armoy, where there also is a hotel/restaurant with good food and slow service. Thonon is a short drive down to Lake Leman and has many shopping and restaurant options. Donkeys, chickens and other animals living near the unit might wake you in the early morning. The owners visited their next door unit over the weekend we stayed and invited us to share wine and snacks, which was greatly appreciated. Although we didn't cook, the kitchen was well-supplied with all necessary items to do so.
