Travel Purpose: leisure

Positive: The location is beautiful and the property is steeped in history. We had dinner the first night , a 3 course meal that was expensive for us but given the remoteness and quality of food we thought was worth it. The facilities were very good with a fully functional unit allowing us to cook and washing facilities were very welcome. I love the drive and views into town but the Scottish roads are a challenge initially.

Negative: The remoteness is both an advantage and disadvantage. We had some anxiety when arriving in Portree and could not locate the site on maps until we realised it was a part of the restaurant. It would have been useful to have some directions and a contact number when the booking was confirmed

Summary: We had a very memorable stay at the Isle of Skye and the experience at Monkstadt was part of that.
