Set in the grounds of the Manoir de Mercier, former home of the family of Brigitte Bardot, in the heart of the village of St Cybranet, it is just a stone’s throw from the pretty river Céou (tributary of the Dordogne).
When you drive through the gates, from the church square, you will appreciate the inner courtyard, the immaculately maintained grounds and the driveway lined with hundred year old plane trees. The cottage was built in the 1700s and was the former guardian’s home when the manor was owned firstly by a wealthy merchant, Joseph Mercier; then the governor of the Ivory Coast; and then by the Bardot-Canale family.

They may be present on site, but their outside living space is found on the other side of the manor, and the cottage remains completely private and independent. The grounds are not part of the cottage or the rental except for access, as it has its own private terrace.
