Summary: A really disappointing nights stay. The front of the hotel is lovely so we had high expectations. On entering the hotel there was a massive queue for check in, the queue was right round the entrance lobby, not a good start. Once checked in the room was OK, the carpet was stained but otherwise clean. Bathroom was nice. The spa was so busy we were advised to come back later, that gave us time for a drink in the overpriced bar. The only ale on tap was John Smiths, never a good sign. The bar was lacking in atmosphere and a few occasions there was no staff there, had to wait for them to appear to get a drink. Once we got in the spa it was OK. The restaurant was terrible, slow service and terrible food and drink. Don't order the £27 bottle of South Australian Shiraz, they have managed to find a weak flavourless wine at 11%. If you order the burger it is just an average burger with a few chips and nothing else. Didn't get any vinegar or other condiments. Not the food of a 4 star hotel. A common theme was the staff, apart from the lady on the Spa reception they didn't seem to care or really want to be there, it was really bad customer service. Something strange is going on there. There are better hotels, best avoided
