An outstanding, stone-built semi-detached barn conversion, in the centre of the small fishing village of Flookburgh, on the edge of the Lake District National Park.
The cottage is perfect for exploring the historic village of Cartmel, Holker Hall and Grange-over-Sands. A short drive takes you to Coniston Water and Lake Windermere. With high quality furniture, fixtures and fittings, this cottage is the perfect location for a relaxing break, any time of year.
The cottage offers accommodation over three floors and features a spacious first floor living area with a Juliet balcony and decorative fireplace. The living area is equipped with TV, DVD, Cd/radio and a good selection of DVDs, Cd’s, books and games. WiFi is available for your browsing needs. The fabulous kitchen is fully equipped with all modern facilities and a small breakfast table.
There is a master bedroom with kingsize bed on the second floor with en-suite shower, basin & WC.
There are two bedrooms on the ground floor. A spacious double bedroom and a single bedroom with additional pull-out bed.
Note: Although the cottage accommodates 6 adults, we advise a maximum of 5 adults and one child as the pull out bed restricts space for two adults.
Also on the ground floor is the bathroom and utility room with washer/dryer.
Outside are two pretty garden areas with garden furniture & BBQ.
There is off road parking for 1 car with additional roadside parking nearby (25 metres)
Flookburgh was a popular resting point for travelers crossing the sands of Morecambe Bay. Facilities in the village include a pub, artisan bakery, convenience store, grocery, a chemist, a Post Office and two food outlets.
The Cumbrian Coastal Way footpath passes nearby and a short walk away from the village is delightful countryside, such as Humphrey Head with views of Morecambe Bay and Coniston's mountain range. A few minutes’ drive or a pleasant off road walk leads to Cartmel, with its beautiful Priory, race course, antique and gift shops, pubs and restaurants; including the Michelin Star-rated L’Enclume and Rogan & Co. Just over a mile away you will find the beautiful house and gardens of Holker Hall. You may wish to visit the Lakeland motor museum in Backbarrow or take a trip on Lake Windermere.
